Day 1: Travel to Paris
- Fly through the night to Paris.
Day 2: Paris
- Meet your Imagine Tour Manager and board your private coach to transfer to your centrally located hotel in Paris.
- After some time to set up, your journey through movies starts. Let’s walk into “Midnight in Paris” movie steps. Discover the book stall on the Seine’s river bank.
- Enter Shakespeare & Co bookstore.
- Continue to the south and stop in front of the place that has been Gertrude Stein’s art gallery between 1904 and 1913. In the movie, Gertrude Stein is played by Kathy Bates. Much of Gertrude Stein’s fame derives from a private modern art gallery she assembled, from 1904 to 1913, with her brother.
- A bit further, you’ll discover Ezra Pound’s house in 1921 (70 rue notre dame des Champs). Pound was an expatriate American poet and critic, and a major figure in the early modernist movement. His contribution to poetry began with his development of Imagism, a movement derived from classical Chinese and Japanese poetry, stressing clarity, precision and economy of language. His best-known works include Ripostes (1912), Hugh Selwyn Mauberley (1920) and the unfinished 120-section epic, The Cantos (1917–69).
- Have dinner with your guide and night accommodation in Paris.
Day 3: Paris
- After Breakfast, enjoy a guided visit in Louvre Museum.
- After the visit, why don’t you have a drink where Ernest Hemingway used to. Try Harry’s New York Bar or Hemingway bar at Ritz hotel.
- Enjoy lunch at Maxim’s founded as a bistro in 1893 by Maxime Gaillard, formerly a waiter. It became one of the most popular and fashionable restaurants in Paris under its next owner, Eugene Cornuché. Cornuché gave the dining room its Art Nouveau decor and made sure that it was always filled with beautiful women.v
- Later, have a digestive walk, and see Bristol hotel, where Gil and Inez stayed during their trip. This hotel has been the 1st French hotel to be officially Granted “Palace” status.
- Stroll the Champs Elysées, have some time for shopping on your way to the Arc de Triomphe.
- Later in the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Seine and discover Paris’ main monuments by night.
Day 4: St Ouen - Paris
- Today, let’s discover le Marché aux Puces de St Ouen and why not find a special antique souvenir.
- Once back in Paris, have some time for lunch on your own.
- Visit Rodin Museum, are you going to be lucky enough to have Carla Bruni as a guide?
- A few minutes from there, you’ll find Cole Porter’s house, when he moved to Paris in 1917 when the USA entered WWI.
- A few meters from there, why don’t you enjoy a cup of tea in La Pagode Garden.
- Finish the day enjoying a general view of Paris from Eiffel tower’s 3rd floor.
- Have dinner at Chez Françoise.
Day 5: Versailles - Paris
- This morning, board the RER train to Versailles, enjoy a visit of the castle and its magnificent garden.
- Later in the afternoon, back in Paris, visit Montmartre, locally known as “La Butte Montmartre”.
- Enjoy dinner in the area.
Day 6: Paris
- After breakfast head to Ile de la Cité & Ile St Louis. Enter Notre Dame Cathedral.
- Follow your way into the Latin quarter, and sit on St Etienne du Mont Church steps, exactly where Gil started his journey in the 20’s.
- Then, don’t forget to visit one of the most unusual Paris shop: Deyrolle.
- After some free time on your own for lunch, visit the Musée de l’Orangerie and admire Monet’s water-lily paintings, known as Nymphéas, representing Monet’s flower gardens at Giverny.
- Have the rest of the day to wander through the streets of Paris.
- Have dinner in a local bistrot.
Day 7: Giverny - Paris
- After breakfast in your hotel, board your private coach to Giverny.
- Discover Monet’s house and its gardens, for real this time!
- Drive back to Paris, and walk through Pere Lachaise cemetery. Resting place of Gertrude Stein and other famous icons including Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.
- Have the rest of the day on your own before dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 8: Paris - USA
- After breakfast, board your private coach to transfer to the airport and fly back to USA.
